In summer the night only lasts about three hours, yet in the winter you get about four hours of daylight. Here you'll find mountain ski resorts, cross-country alpine trails, narrow fjords, majestic mountains and a variety of islands to explore.

When the long winter months are finally over, everyone grabs their walking boots and goes hiking. There's a myriad of alpine trails to explore and it's refreshingly crisp and beautiful.

Sea kayaking is also a favourite and the Helgeland coast in the north west of Norway is recognised as one of the country's best areas. Exploring Norway by sea kayak is where you can find your very own piece of beach, stay in a traditional rorbu (fishermen's cottage) and experience the local culture. Skiing is also very popular and there are a number of great ski resorts with great accommodation and nightlife.

There's an abundance of things to do to keep families entertained too! Dog sledding, snowmobile racing and ski schools all make for an action packed outdoors holiday for everyone.
