Via The Netherlands, crossing the border at Nijmegen:
• Go via Nijmegen (A730) and (A77) towards Köln and the border crossing at Goch.
• Follow the A57 towards Köln (Cologne).
• At Nuess-West, take the A46 exit towards Heinsberg-Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle)-Grevenbroich.
• At Autobahnkreuz Holz, take the A44 towards Aachen-Koblenz.
• When you arrive at Autobahnkreuz Jackerath, continue towards Koblenz.
• This brings you to the A61.
• Follow further directions for route A.

Via The Netherlands, crossing the border at Venlo:
• Go via Venlo and the border crossing of Keulse Barriere/ Schwanenhaus near Kaldenkirchen.
• Follow the A61 towards Monchengladbach. Follow further directions for route A.

Via The Netherlands, crossing theborder at Heerlen:
• Go via Heerlen (A76) and the border crossing of Bocholtz until you reach the A4 motorway going towards Koblenz-Bruhl.
• Follow further directions for route A.

From the Netherlands, the route via Heerlen is the easiest, giving the best chance of avoiding traffic jams and delays at the border and in Germany.

In Germany, from Köln (Cologne):
• At the Autobahnkreuz Köln-Nord, take the A1 towards Koblenz.
• This brings you to the A61. Follow further directions for route A.

In Germany, from Koblenz:
• At the Autobahnkreuz Koblenz, take the A48 towards Trier.
• After about 50 km, take the Ulmen exit. Follow the B257 towards Kelberg for about 5 km.
• Take the Horschhaussen exit.
• From there, follow the signs for Park Heilbachsee.

Route A:
• Stay on the A61 towards Koblenz as far as Autobahnkreauz Bliesheim.
• There, take the A1 exit towards Trier-Euskirchen.
• The A1 ends near Blankenheim. There you pass under the A51 fly-over and, at the end, follow the signs towards Hillesheim-Ahrhutte-Nurburgring.
• At the first traffic lights near Ahrhutte, take exit B258 towards Koblenz-Nurburgring.
• Stay on the B258 until you are near Nurburgring. There, you don’t follow the sign towards Kelberg- Hilleheim, but a little farther, at the B257 motorway, you take the B257 towards Kelberg- Cochem.
• Some 500 metres past Kelberg you will see the signs to Park Heilbachsee via Mosbruch and Gunderath.

In bad weather:
• In winter, if there is snow or ice, or if visibility is poor, we recommend that you stay on the A61 Koln (cologne)-Koblenz Autobahn as far as Koblenz.
• At the Autobahnkreuz Koblenz, take the A48 towards Trier.
• At Ulmen, take the B257 exit towards Kelberg-Nurburgring.
• Just before Kelberg, follow the signs to Park Heilbachsee via Mosbruch and Gunderath.

During the winter in the Vulcan Eifel, it is often foggy early in the evening, which can result in icy roads. It is therefore advisable to plan a reasonably early arrival at Park Heilbachsee.
